Sqrl was born as a combination of frustrations with many online resale markets and the lack of human interaction. There were some that sold some things but not others. There were shipping fees that varied by seller and were different from one seller to another. There was systematic failure to protect buyers, drop shipping, bootleg items, and selling fees that varied by category, price point and time of the year. There was a barrier to entry for most sites that made it hard to get started, harder to master, and easy to banned. Some sites were just for crafts.  Some sites were just for books or car parts. Some sites were so quirky that you could sell anything, but were also suspicious of every deal thinking there was a better chance that it was a scam than not. 

I wanted a site that solved these problems, brought people together locally, regionally, and nationally. A place with upfront fee structures, that was easy to join, and a joy to participate in. A place that groups can come together and sell to one another.
